Butterfly fly away…
Liam looked at his daughter. Trying on her wedding dress she looked so grown up. It hit Liam that he would definetely have to let her go of her. Surely she was in good hands, Louis and Eleanor’s son was a good guy, but it was hard. Destiny had been the only woman in Liam’s life after Danielle had died and now she’d be gone too.
“Doesn’t it look pretty?” Destiny asked excited. “It’s beautiful. You are beautiful, you look so much like your mother right now.” Liam smiled, tearing up. Destiny wrapped her arms around her dad. “I wish she could’ve seen me.” Destiny whispered. “I think she’s watching from up there.” Liam whispered back. Destiny bit her lip. “Would she be happy for me?” Destiny asked softly. Liam nodded, “She be so happy that you’ve found the one, she’d be proud of you as well.” he softly said.
4 months later…
“Daddy?” Destiny asked, it was in the middle of the night and within just a few hours Destiny would be getting married to Thomas. “Yes?” Liam said, a little tired. “I can’t sleep.” Destiny whispered in child-like voice, because although she was 21, she still talked like that sometimes. “Come here.” Liam said. Destiny layed her gead on Liam’s shoulder. “Daddy will you miss me?” Destiny asked. “A lot, but I guess I will just have to get used to you not being around as much as you used to.” Liam said slowly. “Could you play me our song?” Destiny asked softly. Liam got his guitar and started to play and Destiny started to sing,
You tucked me in, turned out the light
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that
Brushed my teeth and combed my hair
Had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when I looked back
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that
Brushed my teeth and combed my hair
Had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when I looked back
Destiny teared up, so did Liam. This song had always meant so much to them, and Liam exactly knew what the next few lines where. Both members of the Payne family found so much truth in this song,
You had to do it all alone
Make a living, make a home
Must have been as hard as it could be
Make a living, make a home
Must have been as hard as it could be
Liam and Destiny smiled through their tears when Destiny sang the next lines. It felt so weird to Liam that soon she’d have someone else to sing her to sleep.
when I couldn’t sleep at night
Scared things wouldn’t turn out right
You would hold my hand and sing to me
Scared things wouldn’t turn out right
You would hold my hand and sing to me
Liam joined in and Destiny wiped away his tears. “It’s okay daddy.” she softly said.
Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you’ll be
Can’t go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
Don’t you worry, hold on tight
I promise you that there will come a day
Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away
Flat your wings now you can’t stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true
Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you’ll be
Can’t go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
Don’t you worry, hold on tight
I promise you that there will come a day
Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away
Flat your wings now you can’t stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true
Liam walked Destiny to the isle, there he handed her over to Thomas. He smiled proudly at his daughter. She got what she deserved.
Butterfly fly away
We’ve been waiting for this day
All along and knowing just what to do
Butterfly, butterfly, butterfly, butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away
We’ve been waiting for this day
All along and knowing just what to do
Butterfly, butterfly, butterfly, butterfly fly away
